I’m a native Oklahoman, born right here in Muskogee. Six years ago I proudly became the superintendent. Today my entire family calls this wonderful community home.
Now, I feel led to have a greater impact. It is time for me to serve the people of this great state.
With a background in education for the past 33 years and a passion for community development, I am committed to representing the interests of our district, fostering economic growth, and removing barriers for new businesses to develop.
In today’s world, it is difficult to see a government that is helping to make life easier for the families of this community. Representation who will listen, collaborate, and get things done. That is my only goal.

About Jarod Mendenhall
Jarod Mendenhall, a fourth-generation Oklahoman born in Muskogee, is honored to be running for State House District 13.
With 33 years of experience in education and a strong passion for community development, Mendenhall is committed to representing the district's interests, fostering economic growth, and eliminating barriers for new businesses to flourish. His goal is to make life easier for families in the community by listening, collaborating, and getting things done.
Mendenhall holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northeastern State University, along with a doctorate from Oral Roberts University. He is married to Shannon Mendenhall, and they have three daughters.
Throughout his career, Mendenhall has held roles as a teacher, coach, and administrator. Notably, he served as a school superintendent for Broken Arrow Public Schools and Muskogee Public Schools. His unique ability to collaborate with stakeholders and drive consensus has resulted in state-of-the-art facilities, renewed community pride, and a vision for the future in both districts.
As a lifelong Republican, Mendenhall staunchly believes in the conservative principles of the party and is dedicated to upholding these values. His focus includes returning taxpayers' dollars through income tax reduction, expanding economic development in House District 13, and facilitating an environment free of barriers for new businesses.
